Guadalhorce

It had been quite some time since we had gone bird watching in Malaga so we decided to plan a trip over to Guadalhorce, knowing that there would be plenty of bird activity in the area (plenty of water).

A chance meeting... of the feathered kind!

During a recent 'non-birding' trip in Southern Spain, we were fortunate enough to come across Lesser Kestrels.

Luckily, we had all our camera equipment at hand so we took the opportunity to take as many photos as possible, and here they are for you to view!

Bonanza

Upon our arrival in Bonanza, we discovered that it was rather windy so we thought that we wouldn't be able to spot many birds.

Once we reached the salt pans however, there were plenty of birds in the area, as the wind seemed to have brought them all in. Fortunately, they were all really close to the track so we roamed the area, scouting the waders.

We remained there for most of the day, as some flocks would leave, but others would soon arrive, so it was a really interesting day overall, and we managed to take quite a few photographs.
